Thought this was a pretty humorous advertorial by H&M. Can you believe I've never been to a H&M store before? Well, that's coz they don't have one here in Singapore. I was so excited when I saw a H&M near where I was staying during my first trip to Hong Kong a couple years back. Except the store only opened on the day I left. So much for the excitement. The second time I was there, I didn't have time to go which was such a shame. Someone should totally bring H&M here, they'll have brisk business for sure.

Ready to jump into a pool anytime during hot days. Like today. Although it did rain for abit. Fickle weather is still here.

Mens Fashion Week (SS2011): The Streetstyles (Part 3) - The Shoe & Socks Edition

For the last part of the SS2011 MFW streetstyle series, here's a quick roundup of the shoes the men were spotted wearing.

(Above) The classic brogues/wingtips. (Top Right) Interesting spin on the classic style with the belt detail and front leather flap.

(Above & Below) A series of printed shoes.

(Above) Did a double take when I saw this. Did you notice the nude coloured band around his ankle?

(Below) A variety of patterned/coloured socks.

Going red all the way. The red shoes kinda reminds me of Mister Ronald McDonald. Haha.

Something I noticed from viewing street style images is that alot of the men in Paris and Milan tend to fold/roll up their pants to create a cuff. Not many guys in Singapore do that. Love the hem detail on the pants. When the wearer folds up the hem, instantly your eyes will be drawn to the striped cuff. Also, from far, it'll probably look like the pants has a striped hem detail. Subtle but striking.

I thought it was very interesting as to why the person actually decided to tie a couple of bandannas around his ankles. Have never seen anyone doing this before. And then there's the paint-splattered shoes which you would normally see on a construction worker or painter. Defintely something different.

Mens Fashion Week (SS2011): The Streetstyles (Part 2) - The Hand Carry Edition

One thing I noticed about the majority of guys here in Singapore is that they usually don't carry a bag when they go out. Excluding the average working man who usually carry a briefcase and the school kids, there are few guys who actually carry a bag when they're out, most travel lightly with just the basic essentials (mobile & wallet) conveniently stuffed in their pockets of course.

To be honest, if I were to spot a guy in Singapore carrying most of the bags in this post, I would assume that he most likely works in fashion or any of the creative fields. Especially the clutch bags/folders.

Love this! I don't think I've ever seen a grown man carrying a briefcase backpack-style before. Cool idea.

Oversized canvas bags are so useful (above). You can literally throw everything in the bag, which of course means you'll eventually end up with a whole load of things, which means a heavy bag, which isn't so great after all eh? But I love them anyway.

Ah, of course, the most coveted hand carry item. We will definitely be seeing alot of the these around town soon enough.

Mens Fashion Week (SS2011): The Streetstyles (Part 1) - The Details Edition

Now that the SS2011 Mens Fashion Week is officially over, it's time for a quick lookback at some of the streetstyles spotted on the fashion crowd during the shows. This edition is all about the details. Check out how these men create their own dress style thru simple (and accessible) accessories or clothing details.   

Whether it's tied tight or hung loosely around the neck, the scarf (or bandana as an alternative as pictured above) is one of the easiest styling pieces to add on to an outfit, not only to complete the look but it can also act as an alternative for the tie or bowtie. I think the ethnic printed scarf together with the camouflage print is a rather interesting mix (pic below).

Sometimes, it's the subtle details that makes an outfit stand out. 

(Above) The embroided name/initials on the cuff is such a great way to personalized a clothing item.

(Below) The embroided lipstick adds a sense of cheekiness to an otherwise plain striped jacket; Patching holes/tears in pants with a different fabric; An iconic Hermès belt is just the right amount of accessorising for an outfit.

(Above) This is one of my favourite image. Does it say an American in Paris, France? Very cute.

Lastly, I'll leave you with some bright neons for guys who aren't afraid to embrace colours.
